Aside from its stop-traffic good looks, the 2016 Ford Mustang is fast, very fast. In recent testing, the Mustang EcoBoost trim's turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine with the automatic transmission accelerated from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 5.9 seconds. That number improved to 4.7 seconds with the GT model equipped with Ford’s manual transmission.

A 3.7-liter V6 powerplant that churns out 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque is standard on the entry-level trim. GTs pack the most power with a 5.0-liter V8 motor that generates 435 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.

On the inside, the 2016 Mustang features retro touches like a dual-cowl dashboard, while also offering various modern conveniences. Even the base, V6 trim gets top-of-the-line technologies like keyless entry and ignition, a rearview camera and Track Apps, which measure lap times. As for entertainment, Sync voice command comes standard, while the Sync 3 touchscreen infotainment system is optional.

On the safety front, the sports car gets antilock brakes, traction and stability control, a rearview camera, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags (coupe only), and driver and front passenger knee airbags. Continuing the list of impressive standard equipment on the car is 17’’ alloys, LED taillights with sequential turn signals and a tilt/telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel. On top of these features, the Mustang also comes with a six-speaker sound system with a CD player, as well as dual USB ports as standard.

Optional equipment includes 18’’ alloys, a rear spoiler, LED foglights and a very comfortable six-way power seat for the driver. More features and amenity continue on the higher trims.
