The all-new 2015 Ford F-150 isn’t just stronger, lighter and more durable than ever before, it's also safer. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently gave the 2015 Ford F-150 SuperCrew a five-star crash rating in their New Car Assessment Program for its innovative safety components. With a total of 31 safety-related features added to the F-150 for the 2015 model year, the full-size pickup is incredibly secure for drivers and passengers.

"The five-star safety rating is a terrific example of One Ford collaboration and innovation," said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president, Global Product Development. "The 2015 model is engineered to be the safest F-150 ever, which matters to customers who depend on this truck to not only get the job done, but also get them safely home."

Ford engineers went to great lengths to significantly improve the F-150's safety. High-strength steel was used to increase rigidity and manipulated to enhance security across all models. A 12-corner front crush horn was also integrated in order to manage crash force during frontal impacts and direct energy away from passengers. Additionally, the truck's aluminum-alloy body was fitted with hydroformed roof rails, extruded roof bows and extruded rocker rails to reinforce strength around the cabin. High-strength adhesives were also used to join different parts of the truck, creating a strong bond equivalent to standard welds.
