The 2016 Ford Mustang is set to make its debut on the market later this year with a variety of brand-new features and available standout packages. In an effort to pay tribute to the pony car's heritage, Ford has decided to bring back a few components from the car’s past, as well as the previously popular Pony Package and California Special Package, which will be offered on select models in the lineup.

For years, fans have been asking for the return of hood-integrated turn signals on the Mustang, and for 2016, they will finally get their wish. The feature, which notifies other drivers when the car’s turn signal is on, will now be included as a standard feature on the Mustang GT. In addition to this classic component, the GT model will also come available with the California Special Package, which has also been brought back for 2016. Complete with 19-inch ebony-painted aluminum wheels, hood/side stripes, ebony leather/Mike suede seat inserts with red stitching, revised grille, a black pedal spoiler and a performance front splitter, among other upgrades, the package will give the Mustang a premium appearance.

Aside from the Mustang GT, the Mustang EcoBoost model will come with its fair share of upgrades as well. Both the GT and EcoBoost models will be offered with a painted black roof option and racing stripes that will enhance their exterior styling. The Mustang EcoBoost will also come available with the Pony Package, which will add 19-inch polished aluminum wheels, side striped and chrome window surround and a tri-bar pony logo on the grille to the vehicle.

Other package options and features are set to be introduced on the Mustang as well, including a Performance Package, Black Accent Package and SYNC 3 infotainment system. You’ll have the chance to try out each of these amenities and others when the 2016 Ford Mustang arrives at Town East Ford within the next few months.
