The Texas Auto Writers Association recently held their annual Texas Truck Rodeo in San Antonio, Texas, where multiple Ford models received coveted awards. The Ford F-Series was named Truck Line of Texas by the association and the 2016 Ford Explorer was crowned SUV of Texas. Additionally, the 2016 F-150's Pro Trailer Backup Assist received the Best Technology accolade, wrapping up Ford's wins this year.
Close to 70 journalists participated in this year's Texas Truck Rodeo event. In an effort to discover which trucks stood out among the rest, they tested a slew of brand-new models on an off-road track at Knibbe Ranch. When all was said and done, many agreed that the F-Series, America's best-selling truck for 38 years, was the best of the best. They also found the 2016 Explorer Platinum to be a top choice SUV due to its collection of exceptional technology and 3.5L EcoBoost engine, which helped it nab the SUV of Texas title from a competitor that held it for five consecutive years.
In addition to these achievements, the F-150's new Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which allows drivers to easily maneuver a trailer by just turning a knob in the direction they want it to go, was highly praised by TAWA journalists, earning it the Best Technology award. You can find the new technology on the 2016 Ford F-150, which arrives at Town East Ford this winter.
