Ford recently made an effort to give back to those less fortunate this holiday season by holding their 4th Annual Coat & Jacket Drive. This year, over 1,000 new and slightly used winter clothes, including scarves, hats, gloves and hats, were donated to the Salvation Army in the city of Detroit to help keep families warm throughout the winter.
The Ford Motor Company Fund was the backbone behind the brand's latest contributions. Focused solely on philanthropic efforts, the branch encouraged employees to make donations for the drive in order to help those in need. Once all the clothing was gathered, a group of Ford employees dropped off the donations to the Salvation Army using two Ford Transits. From there, they will be handed out to people in need of warm clothing to get through the cold winter weather throughout the remainder of the snowy season.
In just this past year, more than 27,000 current and former Ford employees have volunteered across the world to help those in need of assistance. The automaker also contributed $1.3 million in vehicles and U.S. grants, among others, to aid hunger relief.
