Ford has officially done it again! The popular company known for its first-class lineup, which includes the phenomenal F-150 and legendary Mustang, has been crowned the top sales leader in the U.S. for 2014. This is the fifth consecutive year Ford has been bestowed with the honor, proving the automaker is a heavy hitter in the North American automotive market.
Throughout 2014, Ford managed to sell a total of 2,480,942 cars. The top models in its lineup for the year included the Escape, Fusion and the always best-selling F-150. Both Fusion and Escape each sold over 300,000 models each across the U.S. market. The company also sold a total of 94,474 Mustangs, which helped put its sales over the top. A 66-percent increase in Mustang sales this past December in comparison to December of 2013, hugely benefited the brand. Due to the surge, Ford reported a one percent increase in sales this past December compared to 2013.
