The all-new 2016 Ford Focus RS will have car enthusiasts reaching for their wallets when it lands in the U.S. during the first half of 2016. The hot hatch, which debuted at the New York Auto Show this year, is stylish, athletic and now confirmed to produce a generous 345 horsepower - an output that will have hatchback fans lining up at Town East Ford to take it for a spin when it arrives next spring.
Backed by a brand-new 2.3L EcoBoost engine that shares structural similarities to the four-cylinder engine in the latest Ford Mustang, the incoming Focus RS will be a beautiful addition to Ford's U.S. lineup. When it was unveiled at the 2015 New York Auto Show, we were informed it would exceed 315 horsepower; however, we did not know until now that it will actually produce an incredible 345 horses. In addition to the increase in horsepower, the hot hatch will output 324 lb.-ft. of torque, which will make the Focus RS a top contender in its segment. The phenomenal power figures can be attributed to the car's new turbocharger, upgraded exhaust system, updated intake design and new radiator pack, which will be supported by Ford's latest all-wheel-drive system. Complete with Launch Control and the industry's first-ever Drift Mode, the system will have drivers everywhere testing out their best Ken Block impersonation.
