Ken Block's 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR blew away auto enthusiasts when it debuted in the recent Gymkhana 7 video, but before the car had its star moment, Block took it for a spin in its bare shell. The test, which was completed to ensure the car was ready to handle Gymkhana-style a beating, was the first and only one Block conducted before shooting the video.
Expelling 845 horsepower, the Ford Mustang Hoonicorn's 6.7L V-8 engine is pushed to its limits in the video showcasing Block's test run. In its shell form, the high-powered car is exposed to the world, featuring very little outside of its roll cage, engine and roof. A modified all-wheel-drive system was also fitted to the Mustang, allowing Block to show off his skills in the vehicle. With just a few barrels in place, Block can be seen in the video whipping the Hoonicorn Mustang around an empty tarmac with smoke bellowing from all sides of the car. There's no doubt Block put it through the trenches that day, proving the Hoonicorn is one heavy duty piece of machinery.
