Specs at a Glance

Major improvements make the 2025 Ford Maverick® an even more captivating compact pickup. Apart from its refreshed styling, the newest Maverick® comes equipped with the latest SYNC 4 infotainment system. When evaluating new Mavericks®, shoppers often choose between the XLT and Lobo™ trim levels. Let's compare how they differ.

Performance

The Maverick® XLT comes with a standard 2.5L hybrid engine, making it one of the most efficient in its segment. Ford rates this hybrid powertrain at a combined 191 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission further enhances its efficiency. If you want more power, the XLT offers an optional 2.0L EcoBoost engine delivering 250 horsepower. Standard front-wheel drive can be swapped for all-wheel drive if desired.

On the Maverick® Lobo™, the 2.0L EcoBoost engine comes standard. It is paired with a special seven-speed automatic transmission featuring paddle shifters, adding to the trim's sporty appeal. Ford designs the Lobo™ for more dynamic on-road performance, featuring a lowered suspension and performance-tuned steering. The trim also includes beefier brakes and a torque-vectoring AWD system.

Appearance

The 2025 XLT retains the Maverick®'s refreshed look, sporting a redesigned front fascia and darkened headlamp covers. Ford outfits the XLT with 17-inch Carbonized Gray aluminum wheels. A variety of attractive exterior colors, such as Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat, are available.

By contrast, the Maverick® Lobo™ sports a more aggressive street-truck design with a lowered stance, exclusive 19-inch black wheels, and a distinctive grille, making it stand out from the rest of the lineup.

Features

A major highlight of the XLT trim is its updated SYNC 4 infotainment system, featuring a 13.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Other standout features include Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start, in-bed cubby storage, and an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster.

Inside the Maverick® Lobo™, ActiveX seats with accent stitching stand out. Standard Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control and an optional B&O premium audio system cater to both convenience and high-quality sound.
