2025 Ford Transit XL vs 2025 Ford Transit XLT

There are endless ways to use a Ford Transit Van, and thousands of people invent new ways every year. Businesses love them, large families love them, and the industry loves them. We sell the XL and XLT 2025 Ford Transit vans here and are always available to help people pick the proper trim.

Performance

The XL and XLT are offered with the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 in two tunes, producing either 275 or 310 horsepower. The XL rides on 16-inch silver steel wheels with black hubcaps; the XLT gets 16-inch steel wheels with full silver wheel covers.

Appearance

The Ford Transit stands out, and the XL and XLT show small exterior differences. The XLT uses a honeycomb mesh grille with a chrome surround, while the XL's surround is carbon black - a detail that changes the van's front-end styling. Running boards are optional for both trims, and chrome high-intensity HID headlamps are standard only on the XLT. You can view the XL and XLT exteriors at our dealership.

Features

The XL's cabin includes vinyl front and rear floor covering, automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a standard AM/FM stereo with a 4" display and Bluetooth. Dual USB ports are included for convenient connectivity. The XLT upgrades to SYNC 4 with a 12" display and connected navigation, carpeted floors front and rear, and a Lane Keeping System with Blind Spot Information. The XL has a medium center console; the XLT features a large one. For those who want the most driver-assist features standard, the XLT is the better-equipped trim - it includes Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Coverage as standard equipment, while the XL does not. The XL still allows customers to add options later.
