Ford Pro and Xcel Energy Join Forces to Facilitate Deployment of 30,000 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations for Corporate Fleets by 2030

With numerous commercial vehicles traversing extensive distances daily on North American roads, the electrification of these fleets can yield extensive ecological advantages. Insufficient infrastructure is a major hindrance preventing many businesses from transitioning to electric fleets. Ford Pro has recently collaborated with Xcel Energy to significantly expand the availability of charging stations, addressing this challenge. Additionally, businesses in specific states may enjoy reduced fees associated with upgrading their fleets.

Xcel Energy's Electric Vehicle Supply Infrastructure plan explicitly outlines the deployment of 30,000 new chargers by 2030, directly alleviating concerns about charging station accessibility. Although many fleet operators initially plan to charge their electric vehicles at their own stations, installation costs often must be lowered. Consequently, the new plan includes reimbursement for charger installation costs and post-installation support for businesses. This reimbursement is applicable only in Colorado, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The program may extend to other states in the near future, including Texas, South Dakota, North Dakota, New Mexico, and Michigan. Furthermore, Ford Pro provides access to Ford Pro Telematics and Ford Pro Intelligence to enhance fleet management.
