Ford Supports First Responders and Community During Los Angeles County Wildfires

Los Angeles, CA's wildfires have recently inflicted severe and widespread damage, leaving many without homes and countless businesses destroyed. Despite the heavy toll, support has emerged from the auto industry, including the respected American automaker Ford Motors. Ford has announced a series of measures to aid affected community members and first responders as they work toward recovery and rebuilding.

How is Ford Helping?

In collaboration with Ford Philanthropy, Ford dealers operating in 13 states across the Western US have donated funds to the California Community Foundation's Wildlife Recovery Fund. A donation of $465,000 has been made to supply local organizations in California with the resources and supplies needed to support community members. The contributions from Ford and its philanthropic arm also benefit the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. Beyond assisting the broader LA community, Ford is offering help to displaced individuals by providing discounted prices on Ford vehicles and options for deferred payments. Ford also offers free electric chargers to customers who purchase an electric vehicle, while its employees are allowed paid leave to assist with wildfire recovery.

What Organizations Does Ford Support?

Ford's donations support various organizations in the LA area. The American Red Cross, Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, and Team Rubicon are a few of the groups benefiting from Ford's contributions. Collectively, these organizations are providing ongoing assistance to LA wildfire victims as they rebuild after the fires. The Red Cross continues offering shelter and essential supplies to those displaced, and Team Rubicon is delivering longer-term support as victims await rebuilding or restoring their homes. Both Feeding America and the World Central Kitchen are committed to supplying meals and food to affected community members.

Special Electric Vehicle Support

If located within the FEMA disaster area, owners of Ford and Lincoln vehicles qualify for special Ford incentives. This includes reimbursement for all-electric vehicles charged at a charging station from January 7 - 31. Local Ford dealerships can also provide free charging adapters to customers who have lost their homes or are using an electric vehicle to support disaster relief. Additionally, Ford is providing free replacements for customers whose home charging stations were lost in the wildfires.
