Specs at a Glance

The 2026 Ford Super Duty continues to deliver legendary towing and hauling capability, making it a standout heavy-duty pickup. Owners praise its power, updated tech, and passenger comfort. Many customers must choose between the XL and Platinum trims - here's how they differ.

Performance

The XL comes standard with a 6.8-liter V8 gas engine that produces 400 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque, with an optional 7.3-liter V8 rated at 430 horsepower and 485 lb-ft of torque. The Power Stroke diesel offers the highest torque and towing numbers: the standard diesel produces 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque, and the high-output diesel produces 500 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque.

The Platinum offers similar power options but does not include the 6.8-liter gas engine. Instead, it comes standard with the 7.3-liter gas engine and consists of a standard 4X4 drivetrain.

Appearance

The XL's purposeful, rugged styling prioritizes utility. Its standard steel wheels and telescoping tow mirrors are geared toward work use.

The Platinum is more luxurious in appearance with unique styling cues and 20-inch alloy wheels. Lighting upgrades include LED projector headlamps and LED taillights, compared with halogen headlamps on the XL.

Features

The XL offers SYNC 4 with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone connectivity, a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot, vinyl upholstery, and trailer sway damping.

The Platinum brings premium appointments like climate-controlled front seats with Active Motion massage, a head-up display, a 12.0-inch navigation touchscreen, a B&O premium audio system, and upscale leather upholstery.
