Mesquite Dealer Researching the New Edge

The 2016 Ford Edge in back in action for the new model year. Considering it underwent a full redesign last year, the SUV debuts with just two new features: adaptive steering and SYNC 3 technology. Aside from these advancements in technology, the Edge continues to deliver carlike road manners, feature a high-quality cabin, offer a smooth ride and come standard with a fuel-efficient four-cylinder engine. It's among the top five-passenger midsize crossovers on the market today and you can learn more about it by reading our 2016 Ford Edge review below.

The 2016 Ford Edge in Mesquite does not make any changes to its powertrain lineup this year. The SUV continues to come with a standard turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine on all models, but the Sport, which packs its own turbo 2.7L V6 variant. In addition to these available displacements, SE, SEL and Titanium owners can opt for a 3.5L V6 engine with the ability to deliver 280 horsepower and 250 lb.-ft. of torque. Out of the three engine options, the 2.7L V6 is the strongest, producing 315 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. However, when it comes to trailering capabilities, all three variants can tow up to 3,500 pounds when properly equipped, making each one perfect for frequent haulers.

The only two new features to land on the 2016 Ford Edge in Mesquite are SYNC 3 technology and adaptive steering. A replacement for MyFord Touch, SYNC 3 is intuitive, responsive and faster than the outgoing system, allowing drivers to easily stay connected while on the road through hands-free calling, navigation and voice-activated text messaging. Unlike SYNC 3 technology, adaptive steering helps improve driving dynamics on the 2016 Ford Edge. The system works by adjusting steering ratio in attempt to make it easier for drivers to maneuver the car when parking it in tight spaces and switching lanes on the highway.
