Available on several Ford models this year, including the 2016 Ford Expedition in Mesquite, is the brand's newest infotainment system: SYNC 3. Designed with advanced software, this latest technology is more responsive, intuitive and faster than the outgoing MyFord Touch system. SYNC 3 is modeled after today's smartphones and comes with an easy-to-use touchscreen, which allows users to pinch, expand and zoom in on a specific graphic. It also offers simple destination entry, hands-free calling, voice-activated climate control, seamless integration with Apple's Siri and automatic updates when connected to Wi-Fi. Additionally, users can take advantage of SYNC 3's 911 Assist feature, which automatically calls 911 in the event of an accident.
On the powertrain front, the 2016 Ford Expedition in Mesquite continues to come equipped with a turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine, churning out 365 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. Standard with rear-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission, the displacement produces an EPA-estimated 22 mpg highway. When properly equipped, the Expedition can tow up to 9,200 pounds and also has the ability to go from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds, making it one of the fastest SUVs in its class. Aside from rear-wheel drive variants, four-wheel drive models are also available with low-range gearing.
