What's New For the 2020 Ford Expedition?

In 2020, Ford adds more safety technology to all trim levels of the Expedition. This year, all trims get the same standard set of advanced safety aids, which is bundled into a package called the Co-Pilot360. With this package, an assortment of driver-assist safety technologies come standard, ranging from lane-keep assist to forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. Rear cross-traffic alert and a backup camera are other notable safety amenities.

A special appearance package is also available for select Expedition trim levels this year. Now, select trims can be outfitted in an all-black outer package that adds a unique coat of black paint to the wheels, exterior trim, and body. In 2020, you now have the option of ordering the King Ranch trim in two body styles, which are the regular body and an extended version that adds almost 10 inches to the Expedition. This larger size translates to more room in the already-spacious interior and "Best-in-Class" legroom.

Which Features are Available for 2020?

The 2020 Ford Expedition comes in four trim levels. The base trim is called the XLT. Its standard amenities include two bench-style rows of seats and a top seating capacity of eight. This trim is equipped with an eight-inch infotainment center that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also pairs with your smartphone for seamless integration. The XLT can be ordered with several optional packages. This includes the Black Accent package and a custom off-road package called the FX4.

A heavy-duty towing package is available to help the Expedition tow your favorite weekend toys around with ease. The second trim is called the Limited. It upgrades to leather seats for a more comfortable ride and a more polished look. The Limited trim also gets power-adjustable pedals, ambient interior lighting, and a 12-speaker audio system. The King Ranch has some mechanical differences with an adaptive suspension. It also gets larger and more prominent 22-inch wheels.

Custom leather seats with accent stitching and matching exterior badges are standard on the King Ranch. The Platinum has the previous trims' amenities plus a more powerful engine. The Platinum gets satin-aluminum trimming on its exterior and power running boards for a unique look. Inside, it also has its own unique set of leather-trimmed seats with custom stitching. This trim gets 10-way adjustable seats in the front row as well.
