The F-150 Lightning is an all-new release from Ford. The Lightning, which is scheduled to arrive at dealerships in early 2022, is the newest addition to the popular F-150 lineup. Ford's F-150 truck lineup is now more diverse and innovative than before with the F-150 Lightning, which brings an electric powertrain option to the F-150 family for the first time. The F-150 Lightning has a projected electric range of 230 miles with the regular battery and 300 miles with the extended battery. The Lightning will also be equipped with Ford's latest technology for a connected, informed, and enjoyable ride.
Ford has stated that the F-150 Lightning will be designed in three trim levels. The Lightning family will include the Platinum, Lariat, and XLT trim levels. Ford hasn't offered trim-specific details about the same amenities and conveniences you'll get with each trim level. Still, the automaker has provided a sneak preview of the exciting amenities that will ride onboard with your F-150 Lightning. To start, the Lightning will sport Ford's newest infotainment touchscreen interface, which is a user-friendly and visually appealing display screen size 15.5 inches. The touchscreen also supports app connectivity for Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
The Lightning will get the latest infotainment system called SYNC4, which is Ford's exclusive infotainment software, and you'll get an additional 12-inch touchscreen with a digital display that can be customized based on your needs and preferences. Remote start and entry are additional benefits of the F-150 Lightning, which has a keyfob that will work with your smartphone to open the car, start the engine, and perform other useful functions. The Ford F-150 Lightning also has a comfortable and quiet cabin with plenty of storage space and two trunks.
The Ford Lightning is designed for speed and power with its electric powertrain. The F-150 Lightning will use a battery-powered electrical system capable of over 560 HP and a class-leading torque output of 775 LB-FT. Four-wheel drive is standard, and the Ford will tow up to 10,000 pounds when properly rigged. It will have a maximum payload of 2,000 pounds. The maximum electric range will vary between 230 and 300 miles based on battery.
A trailer-tow safety package is available for the Ford F-150 Lightning. Its cabin includes semi-autonomous driving technology and the Co-Pilot360 safety set, including forward-collision avoidance, lane departure warning, blind-spot assist, emergency braking, and more.
