The Ford Explorer has been a popular three-row SUV for years, and it's even better in the 2025 model with several key upgrades. The Explorer has received updates to its exterior and interior to remain competitive. For 2025, the front and rear ends have been redesigned, and the interior now includes a Google-based infotainment system. Certain trims also offer BlueCruise.

What Trims & Features Does the 2025 Explorer Offer?

The 2025 Ford Explorer comes in four trims.

The base model, the Active, has many features, including tri-zone climate control, heated front seats with multiple adjustments, keyless entry, keyless ignition, and second-row captain's chairs that seat seven passengers. The Active trim includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Google-based voice commands and navigation, a digital gauge cluster, and a six-speaker sound system. It rides on 18-inch wheels and features a power liftgate and LED exterior lights. An optional package adds a heated steering wheel, remote start, more adjustments for the front passenger seat, and synthetic leather upholstery.

The ST-Line trim gives the Explorer a sportier appearance with black exterior accents, black body cladding, and darker headlights & taillights. It features 20-inch wheels and comes with black synthetic leather seats with red stitching. The ST-Line also adds more safety features and has a B&O sound system with ten speakers.

The ST trim adds 21-inch wheels, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated second-row seats.

The Platinum trim adds a dual-pane sunroof, leather upholstery, a 14-speaker sound system, and adaptive headlights.

How Much Power Does the 2025 Explorer Generate?

The Explorer's standard engine is a 2.3L four-cylinder that produces 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.

The ST and available Platinum trim feature a 3.0L turbocharged V6 that delivers 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque.

What Safety Features Are Standard on the 2025 Explorer?
