What's New for the 2019 Ford Mustang?

The Mustang has been one of the world's best-selling convertibles for years, and with many amenities the 2019 Mustang looks poised to hold its rank as the world's best-selling sports car. Fast and furious aptly describe the newest Mustang, which comes with a wealth of standard amenities and even more custom options. New for 2019 are a variety of interior and exterior color choices, which allow for optimal color matching to give your Mustang a distinct look. New technology lets you customize the instrument gauge in one of three different looks, which are Track, Sport, and Normal. Custom interior amenities and wheels add even more versatility to your Mustang's appearance. Also available on the 2019 Mustang are a performance exhaust on the engine and a premium audio system.

Iconic Trims and Features for the 2019 Mustang

This year, drivers have a choice of eight Mustang models. The base model is the Fastback. The Fastback comes standard with highly visible LED lights in the front and back. LED turn indicators and a polished-tip exhaust are other standard features in the Fastback. Inside, the base model comes with a dome lamp, a center console with an armrest, and automatic headlights. An auto-dimming rearview mirror and driver footrest are other standard amenities in this Mustang. Two USB ports keep your electronics charged, and Ford SYNC infotainment system supports app connectivity. The leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, illuminated vanity mirrors, and cruise control are other notable standard features. A voice-activated navigation system and dual-zone climate control are optional features in the base Mustang.

Next up is the Premium Fastback. It adds several standard features to the base model's amenities, including heated and cooled leather-trimmed seats. Color accent trim is available for a custom look. This model also gains dual-zone climate control and the SYNC 3 technology system with voice recognition, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and available navigation. The EcoBoost Convertible adds to the previous trims' amenities with signature LED headlights and a cloth convertible top that is easy to open and close. A push-button start is also standard. Active noise control is another one of the standard features.

Next is the GT Fastback, which gets a six-speed rev-matching transmission. Performance tracking and exceptional app compatibility are standard in this trim. The EcoBoost Premium convertible adds ambient lighting with a 4.2-inch driver display cluster to the long list of standard features.

Upgrading to the GT Premium Fastback you get a 10-speed automatic transmission plus a performance exhaust system. The GT Premium Convertible standard features include 18-inch aluminum wheels, heated and cooled front leather seats with perforated inserts, and performance metric tracking. The premier BULLITT trim gets a 12-inch instrument cluster and high-end brake calipers that are painted bold red.

How Strong is the 2019 Ford Mustang?

2019 Ford MustangThe standard engine of the first two trim levels is a 2.3L EcoBoost engine. Standard on higher levels of the Mustang is a 5.0L, eight-cylinder engine with VCT. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the first two trim levels. A six-speed manual transmission with rev-matching technology is standard on the highest level models. The 10-speed automatic transmission is an available option on select trim levels.
